Actor Madala Ranga Rao admitted in hospital

Veteran actor Madala Ranga Rao, popular for films like ‘Yuvataram Kadilinidi’ and ‘Erra Mallelu’, has been admitted in Star Hospital in Hyderabad. His condition is critical, say doctors. He has been suffering from heart-related ailments in recent years. He is now under ventilator.

Last year, he suffered heart stroke and doctors at Star Hospitals did heart surgery successfully. “However, the problem has resurfaced. For the few weeks, he has started complaining heart problem,” said his son Madala Ravi.

Known as the 'Red Star', Madala Ranaga Rao has acted in and produced many films. Known for making and starring in movies with leftist ideology, he started his career with ‘Chairman Chelamaiah’. Through his production house Navataram Pictures, he produced many hit movies with leftist theme like Yuvatharam Kadilindi (1980), Erra Mallelu (1981), Mahaprasthanam (1982), Praja Shakthi (1983), Veera Bhadrudu(1984), etc.
