I have reinvented myself with 'Officer': RGV

It was the pre-release event of 'Officer' and Ram Gopal Varma couldn't help himself in almost turning emotional while speaking about Nagarjuna, the actor who made him a director with the cult classic 'Shiva'.

"Although I have never done any 'punyam' in my life, I have been lucky to meet this good person called Nagarjuna.  Is it because of past life's deeds?  I don't know.  I can't say anything more as I might end up having tears in my eyes.  If I cry, my reputation will go," RGV said.

"In 'Officer', I have seen Nag's ultimate heroism.  I have watched a number of movies in the last 30 years, read lots of fiction and have had so many experiences.  To fight a powerful villain, the hero has to become that much bigger.  That's what you will see in 'Officer'.  I have turned an officer into a criminal in this film, as I was done with making films on criminals, like street goondas, gangsters and factionists," the director observed.

What is the difference between 'Shiva' and 'Officer'?  "In the former, a college student took to fight the evil as he had no other choice.  In the latter, it's an experienced person who fights," RGV noted.

The film, also starring Anwar Khan and Myra Sareen, will hit the cinemas on June 1st.
