South India’s leading filmmaker A R Murugadoss’s name is regularly dragged into the controversies of stealing story ideas or copying the movies. He faced allegations that he copied the story from a Telugu writer for his “Kaththi” starring Vijay. Now, a Tamil writer accused him of stealing his story idea for the upcoming Vijay starrer ‘Sarkar’.

Murugadoss quashed allegations and said that the story is entirely his. In an interview, he gave lengthy explanation about the entire row and concluded that he has written the script on his own. Telugu producer Tagore Madhu also defends him. He said Murugadoss is a genius director and he writes his own stories. His former associate and director Gopichand Malineni echoed the same.

However, netizens are pointing out that Murugadoss is not an original thinker. He always copies basic plots from foreign movies. He copied ‘Memento’ and turned it into ‘Ghazini’. He took basic theme of ‘Pay It Forward’ to turn it into as Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Stalin’. His utter flop movie ‘Spyder’ is amalgam of various Hollywood movies like ‘Minority Report’ and ‘The Dark Knight’.

His other movies are also based on foreign hits.
