Vijay’s ‘Sarkar’ hit the screens today. The film has unusual Tuesday release to cash in on Deepavali festival period. ‘Sarkar’ is a political thriller that is directed by A R Murugadoss.

Though Murugadoss’s previous movie ‘Spyder’ starring Mahesh Babu bombed at the ticket window, ‘Sarkar’ has succeeded in generating ample buzz thanks to Vijay’s growing popularity in Telugu states. Vijay’s earlier movie ‘Adirindi’ took bumper openings in AP and Telangana.
