Murugadoss confirms police had come to his house

Did Chennai police attempt to arrest director A R Murugadoss on Thursday night? The director confirms in a tweet that police had come to his house and banged the door several times. However, they didn’t arrest him as he was not at home at that moment.

Murugadoss directed ‘Sarkar’ starring Vijay has landed in political row over depiction of AIADMK’s welfare schemes. The party also objected over the reference to late J Jayalalitha. The villain’s name in the film is Komalavalli (Varalakshmi Sharat Kumar) and Jayalalitha’s original name was the same.

Several shows were stalled in various parts of Tamilnadu.

The film’s producers Sun Pictures posted a tweet that police came to arrest the movie’s director. Confirming this, Murugadoss tweeted, “Police had come to my house late tonight and banged the door several times. Since I was not there they left the premises. Right now I was told there is no police outside my house.”
