Arjun Reddy Tamil remake scrapped

Thursday, February 7, 2019 - 17:30

In a bold decision, producers of 'Arjun Reddy' Tamil remake have scrapped the movie after director Bala completing its entire shoot. 'Arjun Reddy', the iconic hit starring Vijay Deverakonda, has been remade in Tamil introducing Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram as the lead actor in the direction of Bala of 'Shiva Putrudu' fame.

Bala is known as gutsy filmamker and he is one of the original thinkers in Indian cinema industry. However, Bala is not in form these days and he has accepted to do a remake for the first time in his career. The Tamil remake's shoot was wrapped up and its first copy was given to the producers. After watching the entire film made by Bala, the producers felt that it is not satisfactory and have decided to scrap it totally.

In a shocking decision, the production house E4 Entertainment, said that they 'will start afresh, and shoot a new Tamil version of “Arjun Reddy, with Dhruv as the main lead by staying true to the soul and intention of the original."

The film will be directed by another filmmaker from the scratch.

Full statement

We at E4 Entertainment are not at all happy with the final version handed over to us and due to various creative and other differences, we have decided not to release this version. Instead we will start afresh, and shoot a new Tamil version of “Arjun Redd, with Dhruv as the main lead by staying true to the soul and intention of the original.

Official announcements regarding the new cast and crew including director will be made shortly. Despite this unfortunate turn of events which has cost us heavily, our love for wanting to see this cult film in Tamil has not diminish in any way. We will therefore work tirelessly as a new united team towards a June 2019 release.

We seek your continued support and blessings as we take up this journey.
