'NGK', which is scheduled to release on May 31 in Tamil and Telugu, stars Suriya in the role of an idealistic political leader. The genre, the film's trailer and the star cast (which includes also Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh) have raised the buzz. 

However, the Telugu version of the film has fetched a mere Rs 8 Cr in terms of theatrical rights. Producer Radha Mohan has acquired the rights.

The harsh truth is that Suriya's market has come down remarkably in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the years. There was a time when his films used to make Rs 20 Cr in terms of pre-release theatrical rights. This figure has steadily come down. 

'NGK' has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and it is directed by Sri Raghava.
