Critics have given their verdict about ‘Manmadhudu 2’. Even die-hard fans are lashing out at Nagarjuna for acting in this romantic drama laced with adult stuff. Still, Nagarjuna is giving a lame explanation about why the movie received so much flak. On Sunday, he went on explaining that some of his movies like Mani Ratnam directed ‘Geetanjali’ and K Raghavendra Rao’s devotional film ‘Annamayya’ received mixed reactions when they got released but today they are regarded as classics. Even ‘Nirnayam’ was rejected by audiences then but now it is considered as a good film, he said.

He also said that ‘Manmadhudu’ didn’t click much as they had anticipated at the time of the release though it went on to win cult status later. Nagarjuna has narrated the history of how some films received not a positive reaction from the audiences when he tried something different. He took pains to convince the journalists present at the press meet to say that ‘Manmadhudu 2’ is doing well at the box-office but again he also mentioned that he is not comparing this film to those classics. There he admitted his lame explanation.

‘Manmadhudu 2’ has received unanimously bad reviews from the general public, fans and critics alike for its lousy narration and also adult stuff in a so-called family movie.

As per early estimates, ‘Manmadhudu 2’ is likely to post about Rs 2 Cr collections in its first three days in the Nizam region. This gives the picture of how badly the movie is getting patronage from the audiences.
