Nearly after 16 years, Mahesh Babu is using Kurnool city as a story backdrop in his movie. It was in his first major blockbuster ‘Okkadu’, Kurnool featured a major part of the story. He first meets Bhumika in Kurnool and gets a scuffle with Prakash Raj near Konda Reddy buruju (fort) in ‘Okkadu’ setting the film’s story into a high. Now, he is acting in ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ that also has Kurnool as its story backdrop.

Now that Mahesh Babu became a huge star, it is impossible to control crowds at the Konda Reddy buruju in Kurnool. This is why a special set of buruju was erected in Ramoji Film City. Now the movie will be canned at this set.

Anil Ravipudi is directing this entertainer that also stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Anil Ravipudi is canning the movie at a breakneck pace and he is set to finish the shooting part by December first week itself. The film is set for January 9, 2020 release.

Touted to be a mass entertainer with comedy being the main focus, ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ has Mahesh Babu playing the role of an army major named Ajay Krishna. In ‘Okkadu’ too, Mahesh Babu’s name was Ajay.
