After a stupendous start at the box office in the first weekend, Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya’s first-ever multi-starrer movie ‘Venky Mama’ has experienced a huge dip in the collection on weekdays. However, it managed to recover on Thursday. The film has earned about Rs 22 crore in AP and Telangana in its first week. This is a decent number for this biggie in its first week. 

It opened with a worldwide share of Rs 7.22 crore on December 13. The film went on to add another 11 crores to its tally over the weekend but it witnessed a slowdown in the collection later. But it gave a huge boost to the box-office at a time when the trade hit an all-time low. 

‘Venky Mama’ should hold strong in this second weekend to enter into the profit zone. The film will now face competition from today’s releases - ‘Prati Roju Pandaage’, ‘Ruler’ and ‘Donga’ besides Salman Khan’s Hindi movie ‘Dabangg 3’.
