40 crore set for Rana's next movie?

Gunasekhar loves movie sets. Running joke in the Telugu film industry is that the maverick director would even think of creating a set of a sea if his story is set in the backdrop of a beach. Such is his love for creating sets. The Charminar set for ‘Okkadu’ and Madhura Meenakshi Temple set for ‘Arjun’ created history.

Now, he is set to begin a mythological movie ‘Hiranya Kashyapa’ with Rana. To create the celestial world of Hiranyakashipu, the Asura king, Gunasekhar is reportedly creating a lavish set with a whopping budget of Rs 40 crore in Ramanaidu cine village in Hyderabad. This is said to be the costliest set ever beating ‘Baahubali’.

Gunasekhar is relying more on sets than visual effects for this mythological movie. Being produced by Suresh Babu and Gunasekhar jointly, this multi-lingual movie might commence its shoot this summer.

Rana is currently shooting for director Venu Udugula’s ‘Virata Parvam’.
