Director Sreekanth Addala has finally launched his movie after a gap of four years. He is now directing ‘Naarappa’, a remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Asuran’ starring Venkatesh in the titular character. For Sreekanth Addala, this is a complete departure. The director is known for ‘soft’ family-oriented dramas. ‘Naarappa’, on the other hand, is an intense drama with Dalit undertones, a quite contrast theme and subject to his sensibilities. It is a big challenge for him to prove his mettle here.

Also, after the release of ‘Brahmotsavam’, which was a major dud, he lost all the craze as a director. He needs to gain his mojo back.

Sreekanth Addala had earlier directed hits like ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ and ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’.
