Actress Kalyani turns director

Remember Kalyani? She played lead roles in big-ticket movies in Telugu fifteen years ago. Venkatesh’s ‘Vasantham’ and Ravi Teja’s ‘Avunu Valliddaru Istapaddaru’ are some of her popular movies. The actress later married director Surya Kiran and cut down her acting assignments. Occasionally, she appeared in character roles.

She has now turned director.

Kalyani is directing a Tamil-Telugu bi-lingual starring Tamil star Chethan Cheenu. The movie was formally launched. Kalyani is now using the screen name Kaveri Kalyani for her directorial debut. She wielding the megaphone is surprise news.
