Tamil super stars Kamal Haasan and superstar Rajinikanth urged people to stay at home and maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Kamal said, "Stay at home and bond with your family members. Catch a movie at home. Pick up a book and read it. We mustn't be the carrier for the virus.” He posted videos on social media.

In a tweet, Superstar Rajinikanth said that Italy tried implementing curfew but failed. “We don’t want such a crisis in India and I urge everyone to rise to the occasion and participate in the Janta curfew by strictly staying indoors,” he tweeted.
