Small films to heat up the scene this November

An interesting thing about November is that week after week, the audience are in for a film belonging to an unconventional genre.  A month full of many releases, it is going to be a field day for small cinema, not to forget experimental ones.

On Nov 4 we will see the releases of 'Naruda DoNaruda', 'Manalo Okadu', 'Avu Puli Madhyalo Prabhas Pelli' and, probably, 'Entha Varaku Ee Prema' and 'Dwaraka'.  Each of these belong to different genres.  

In 'Naruda DoNaruda', you will see Sumanth in the role of a sperm donor, having a ball of a time with his doc, played by the versatile Tanikella Bharani.  A remake of 'Vicky Donor', this is a comedy drama targeted at youth audiences.  'Manalo Okadu' sees RP Patnaik in the role of a lecturer out to take on a media moghul.  It's the common man questioning the professional questioner - the journalist. 

'Dwaraka' has Vijay Devarakonda branching out to deliver a family entertainer.  The trailer portrays him playing a fake baba, understandably forced by circumstances.  'Avu Puli Madhyalo Prabhas Pelli' stars 'Kalakeya' Prabhakar in a pivotal role and if the makers are celebratory about the fact that it's an unreal story: The reason is that it begins with the villain failing in love!  Then there is 'Entha Varaku Ee Prema', the dubbed version of 'Kavalai Vendam', starring Jiiva and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles.  This is the week's only romantic drama.

Come Nov 11, 'Saahsam Swaasaga Sagipo', 'Intlo Deyyam Nakem Bhayam', and 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada' will hit the screens. The Naga Chaitanya - Manjima Mohan film is awaited as much for its combo (complete with Gautham Menon and AR Rahman) as for its sequences, which are expected to be gripping.  'Intlo Deyyam Nakem Bhayam', directed by G Nageshwar Reddy, has Allari Naresh back to doing slapstick comedy.  'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada', starring Nikhil, Nandita Shweta and Hebbah Patel in lead roles, has raised enough curiosity thanks to its recently-released teaser.  A supernatural element is in store.

On Nov 17, it's the Srinivas Reddy-starring 'Jayammu Nischayammura'. Curiously described by its makers as a native comedy film, it has Poorna of 'Raju Gari Gadi' fame playing the female lead. The movie was recently bought for Rs. 7 cr by NKR Films.  Just goes to show its potential.  

On Nov 18, Vijay Antony returns as 'Betaludu'.  Seen as a software engineer, Vijay is playing a multi-dimensional role in this thriller. It's directed by Pradeep Kumar.  It will clash with another Tamil dubbed movie, 'Okkadochchadu'. A contrast in terms of the genre, this one is Suraj-directed and stars Vishal and Tamannah Bhatia.  While this one has star value, 'Betaludu' has Vijay, who has become more familiar to Telugu audience after 'Bichagadu'.  It will be a tough fight between the two.  Experiment or formula?  Wait and watch.

On Nov 26, Raj Tarun will arrive with 'Kittu Unnadu Jagratta'. Produced by Anil Sunkara, the film may be yet another RT-style entertainer.
