January 2017: Box-office report

The first month of 2017 brought cheers to the movie industry. Indeed it was best start for Tollywood. More than 10 straight movies were released in January 2017 but the five important movies were - 'Khaidi No 150', 'Gautamiputra Satakarni', 'Shatamanam Bhavati', 'Head Constable Venkatramaiah' and 'Luckunnodu'. Of these three movies became huge blockbusters.
 
Chiranjeevi's comeback movie 'Khaidi No 150' has collected more than 90 Cr share in just three weeks and became second all-time biggest hit in Tollywood. The movie smashed many records in Andhra Pradesh. Though it underperformed in Nizam area, the film brought profits to all distributors.
 
Nandamuri Balakrishna's 100th movie 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' won critical praise and became biggest hit in Nandamuri Balakrishna's career. The film has collected a share of nearly 47 Cr in three weeks. This is the first movie that Balakrishna movie collected about 1.6 million dollars.
 
The most profitable blockbuster among all these releases in Jan 2017 was 'Shatamanam Bhavati' that collected about Rs 25 Cr share. Starring Sharwanand and Anupama Parameshwaran, the movie was produced by Dil Raju. These three movies were hits.
 
Manchu Vishnu's 'Luckunnodu' and R Narayana Murthy starrer 'Head Constable Venkatramaiah' were disasters at the box-office.
