Pawan Kalyan

Speaking at a meet held by Jana Sena Party's supporters in Nashua, a city in New Hampshire, US, Pawan Kalyan once again revealed his ideology. Emphasizing National Integration, the actor-politician said that raising voice on issues that affect people was his prime interest.

Here are a few highlights of his speech:

"I am always a student. I am not highly educated, me being a school drop-out. But I have always observed the ways of the society. I became an actor rather accidentally. Looking at the society, I can't be complacent. What gives me relief is when I raise my voice against people's problems."

In his style, Pawan said that Jana Sena was a people's army, with courage as its weapon. "I won't care whatever I may lose. I will never lose my courage, which alone can ensure success."

"The freedom we are enjoying is because of the sacrifices made by many heroes. Unity in diversity is India's strength. The borders (between states) are merely geographical. We are one in thought. But the political discourse is not in keeping with this. It's divisive."

"If people's problems are not redressed in time, they may aggravate. The Telangana movement proves this. It was ignored for 30 thirty years."

He said that while we respect Gandhi and Ambedhkar, we don't follow in their foot steps. "When I formed Common Man Protection Force, I received many threats. But they didn't deter me. It's because I was sure that I can withstand intimidation that I entered into politics. My grouse against the political class is not personal. I am only against their apathy."

"It's said that politics is impure. To me, it's a holy occupation. Our Constitution is a great document."

"I always weight my words. I can face challenges. I am cautious, but not afraid. I will go to any extent if the rulers don't keep their words."

"Power is not the ultimate goal of Jana Sena. Public good is. We need a strong ideology to fight for the people. We need the intellectual contribution of youngsters. Are only dynastic politicos who are youngsters? Aren't you youngsters?"

"I am running Jana Sena Party with my own money. If I need to collect funds, I will do it transparently."

"I wanted to stop acting after doing seven films. May be, I would have given up acting had 'Johnny' been a hit. I love cinema. It also gives me money. But I have no affection toward money. I like acting. But at times, I may take a break from movies because of other responsibilities. I will act as long as I have the strength."

Wearing the 'Gabbar Singh' red cloth, Pawan said that it was a symbol of the toiling working class. "People wear this regardless of caste and religion."

Pawan made a reference to Thomas Alva Edison, Martin Luther King Jr., John F Kennedy, George Washington and the Indian jurist Nani Palkhiwala in his speech. He also invited the Mayor of Nashua to come to India and offer his valuable suggestions for development.
