Vijay Antony, Mia confident about Yaman

Vijay Antony and Miya George will be seen as the lead pair in 'Yaman', the Feb 24 release. Vijay Antony and Miya George talk about this political thriller.
Vijay Antony says..
When Jeeva Shankar was done with the narration, I cried. I had been holding back my tears. 'Yaman' is a political thriller with a difference. It has emotions, sentiment and everything. I will be seen in dual roles. After the father's character dies, the son enters as a successor.
The plot is very refreshing. There are villains, there are rivalries in all political thrillers, but 'Yaman' has more than that. How a common man goes on to become an MLA and a Minister is told in a gripping way.
As per mythology, Yaman is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He spells doom for Adharmic forces. I am happy that 'Yaman' is coming on Maha Shivaratri day. No specific research went into the film. We all know how politicians are in real life. Their politics may be different, but most politicians think alike.
The film doesn't have any references to the ongoing political situation in Tamil Nadu. The story was written five years ago and so, there are no resemblances with the latest developments (that have unfolded after the passing away of J Jayalalithaa).
We are confident of scoring a hit, going by the content and the number of hits the trailer has got. I am not surprising by the number of hits for the Tamil version, but the Telugu version's popularity is quite surprising.
Money is not important for me at all. I am happy if I get to fetch the basic needs. I have seen rich people who can't live peacefully because they face threats to their life and property. I want to do more charity in the coming years.
Miya George says...
I am playing an actress in the movie. In so far as I was playing an actress, I could relate to the character. But beyond that, there are no similarities. I don't see myself as a celebrity and am not conscious of my identity of being an actress. There are those who see themselves as different from the rest, but I am not that kind of a person.
The core message of 'Yaman' is that, a sinner can never escape punishment. This essence is conveyed through a political backdrop. My character Anjana meets the hero, seeks his help, but eventually that leads to him getting into a big problem.
Working with Vijay Antony sir was great. He is so humble. He often says that he knows only little acting, little music, little sound engineering, etc.
'Ungarala Rambabu' was supposed to be the first Telugu release for me. But since it got delayed, 'Yaman' is my first Telugu release. I have done about 20 movies in Malayalam and Tamil. I did get a number of offers from Tollywood, but I didn't accept them because I didn't know the language. I don't want to just do a film without knowing the language.
