National Film Awards for year 2016 were announced today. 'Shatamanam Bhavati' was adjudged as Best Popular Movie. Although the film was released this Sankranthi, it got censor clearance last year. 

On the other hand, 'Pelli Choopulu' was chosen as Best Telugu film in regional category. Director Tarun Bhaskar also won award for his dialogue writing. 

Choreographer Raju Sundaram won Best Choreography award for his work for NTR starrer 'Janatha Garage'.
