Dasari's last rites performed with state honours

Family, friends and prominent Tollywood personalities bid a tearful adieu to veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao as last rites were performed on Wednesday (May 31) at 3.30 pm.

Government of Telangana accorded him a state funeral that took place at his farmhouse in Moinabad near Hyderabad. Dasari Narayana Rao, a veteran director of 151 movies, died of illness. He introduced many acting talents to the movie industry.

He was featured in the Guinness Book of Records for directing highest number of movies in short period. He had acted in more than 50 movies and also produced nearly 60 films. 

Dasari was a writer, director, actor, producer, editor of newspapers, lyricist, and columnist.  Apart from his film career, Rao was also a minister in the Manmohan Singh government.
