Sridevi wins appreciation with her answer to Rajamouli

Sridevi, who has 50 years of acting experience, is a legend. She is class apart. The actress still is very popular with the current generation and commands awe. Her befitting reply to director S S Rajamouli's allegations has won praise and appreciation from all.
By putting bluntly but in respectful manner that Rajamouli's comments about her on public platform are not in good taste, She has once again shown her class. She said it is not fair on part of Rajamouli to talk like that.
Post 'Baahubali 2', Rajamouli revealed that Sridevi demanded Rs 8 Cr as remuneration for the role of Sivagami, when they first approached her. He also said that she put many other demands like suit room accommodation at a five star hotel, 10 business class tickets. He mentioned that they dropped of casting her after hearing her demands. Ramya Krishna eventually did the role. He revealed all this in a Talk show a month ago.
Sridevi first refused to talk about Rajamouli's comments. She avoided the media questions but she has finally opened up. In an interview to NTV, she said she was hurt by Rajamouli's talk.
"Once for all I want to clear one thing. I have never put such demands. I did 24 movies with K Raghavendra Rao. Ashwini Dutt produced many films in Telugu with me. Would they have repeated me if I demand in such manner," she lambasted Rajamouli. "I don't know if the producers (Sobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni) gave wrong information to Rajamouli to avoid me casting in it. I heard that Rajamouli is a fine technician."
"I have done 300 films so far, completed 50 years of acting career. Do you think I would have survived all these years if I made such ludicrous demands?" she questioned. In the same breath, she continued: "I don't know why he (Rajamouli) spoke like that. I ignored media reports initially. Later a friend sent me the video link of Rajamouli talking about me. I felt it is unfair. Not in good taste."
Sridevi also said that losing a film to other actors is not a first time. It happens regularly with all the actors, she observed. "Due to various reasons, I couldn't take up some interesting films and they went on to become huge hits. I only felt they were not my destiny. Makers of those films didn't say any word against me for not doing their movies in all these years. It is not good to talk about such things."
