While Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed people not to step out from 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday to maintain social distancing to contain the spread of coronavirus, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has called for 24-hour curfew in the state.

Staring 6 am on Sunday, people should not come out until Monday morning, he urged. This is essential to break the chain, CM KCR said. The government has already shut down the movie theaters and schools in the state.

The overall number of coronavirus positive patients in the state now stands at 19. Except for one primary contact, the rest have a history of foreign travel.
