96 remake launched on Ugadi

The Telugu remake of Tamil hit movie '96' was launched on the auspicious Ugadi festival. The remake stars Sharwanand and Samantha as the lead pair. The muhurtham shot was filmed on Sharwanand with director Vamshi Paidipally sounding the clapboard. It was a low-key launch. Samantha didn't attend the ceremony.
Dil Raju is producing the film on his banner in the direction of C Prem Kumar who also directed the movie in Tamil.
"We will commence shoot in Kenya for 15 days first. Regular shoot begins next week. Later the movie will be shot in Hyderabad and Vizag," producer Dil Raju said.
