Baahubli 2 crosses Rs 1000 Cr mark

'Baahubali 2' has become the first ever Indian film to have collected Rs 1000 Cr worldwide. The movie took only 10 days to reach this milestone. Aamir Khan's 'PK' came close to reach the mark but didn't achieve it. Right from the release day, 'Baahubali 2' has become a box-office phenomenon. Even after the first week, the film has not slowed down. 'Baahubali 2' has shown the world the box-office potential of Indian movies.
Rajamouli directed 'Baahubali 2' is mainly a Telugu movie that is also simultaneously made in Hindi and Tamil languages. It is also dubbed into Malayalam. The four language versions were released simultaneously. It grossed about 700 Cr from India (all languages) and Rs 300 Cr came from overseas markets. In USA alone, the movie has pulled in 14 million dollars as on Saturday night. The Hindi version of 'Baahubali The Conclusion' took a net of Rs 280 cr by end of second Saturday in India. On the other hand, it collected a share of Rs 130 Cr in Telugu states.
Though many Hollywood movies and Chinese movies regularly collect more than 200 million dollars (Rs 1300 cr) in Chinese market alone, an Indian movie has finally grossed Rs 1000 Cr worldwide.
A great achievement for Indian cinema! An occasion to celebrate! Kudos to Rajamouli for making Indian cinema to reach major box-office milestone.
