Brahmanandam gets a Balakrishna push

Nandamuri Balakrishna and Brahmanandam

After Brahmanandam started losing out to Prudhviraj in recent years, he has bagged only two important films with lengthy roles. One is Kamal Haasan's 'Saabhash Naidu', whose release is not going to happen anytime soon. The second one is Nandamuri Balakrishna's 102nd movie. Brahmi is going to get much screen space in this 2018 Sankranthi release, being directed by KS Ravikumar.

The star comedian may be said to be back in business after being out of form for a couple of years or so. He is hoping to be back in the reckoning. He is counting on this mass entertainer to deliver laughs and prove that he is down but not out. An overdose of Brahmi started spoiling his chances when he repeated the same formulaic 'bakra' roles film after film. In the last two years, one can hardly recount a single star hero entertainer which saw Brahmi in his elements.

If his comedy with Pawan Kalyan in 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' is forgettable, 'Soggade Chinni Nayana', 'Sarrainodu' and 'Khaidi No. 150' didn't serve to resurrect his career. The list goes on and on. In fact, offers from big banners have started slowing down. One hopes that Brahmi will re-invent himself now as he gets push from Nandamuri Balakrishna.
