Cheliyaa and Guru to compete on April 7?

Looks like Mani Ratnam's 'Cheliyaa' and Venkatesh's 'Guru' will be competing with each other on 7th April as both movies are aiming for the release on that date. Venkatesh's 'Guru' was to release on 26th January but it got delayed. Though there is no official announcement from the makers of 'Guru' about release date, the trade has been informed. April 7th is the date they have locked for it.

On the other hand, Karthi and Aditi Rao Hyderi starrer 'Cheliyaa' has confirmed 7th April as its release date in Tamil and Telugu languages. Mani Ratnam's plan is to release this movie as the Tamil New Year's (April 14) special.

It remains to be seen either of these movies would pull out from competition and opt for another date.
