Drugs Case: Tollywood stars respond to speculations

The names of celebrities who have received notices from Telangana police in the drugs case are out. Although Excise Commissioner still maintains that they have not released any names, several celebrities who have received notices have come out and spoke to the media today.

As per the media reports, Puri Jagannadh, Ravi Teja, Tarun, Nandu, Charmee, Subbaraju, art director Chinna, Mumaith Khan, etc have received the notices.

Navadeep, Nandu, Subbaraju spoke to the media and they have denied that they use the drugs.

“I have received notices, I will respond to police questioning but I never took a single drug,” said Subbaraju.

Actor Nandu said he doesn't even smoke a cigarette forget about snorting cocaine. Actor Navadeep reiterated that he has no links with any drug dealers who caught by Telangana police. He's innocent, he said.

On the other hand, Movie Artiste's Association responded. The association said all artistes who have received notices from Police will co-operate with the officials. We are sure that they would come out clean in this regard, it said.

Actress Jeevitha supporting Tollywood industry faulted government and police officials for defaming the industry and isolating only celebrities when many bigwigs of the society are also victims or users of the drugs.

Meanwhile, rumors are thick and fast that the government has asked commissioner Akun Sabharwal to go on leave. But Sabharwal turned down the rumors saying he is going on leave for personal reasons. He denied any pressure from government to go slow on this case.
