Mani Ratnam's epic film lands in trouble

Mani Ratnam has begun pre-production work of his next film based on an epic novel. The film is about King Raja Raja Cholan and the great director has assembled Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Amitabh Bachchan and Mohan Babu for the main roles to essay various historical characters.
However, Lyca Productions, the production which earlier produced Mani Ratnam’s ‘Nawab’, has now backed out of this project. The production house also called off Shankar’s ‘Bharateeyudu 2’ for budget reasons.
Who will now invest in Mani Ratnam’s film? It requires high budget as the film is period drama involving sets and VFX.
