Rajinikanth Peta (Telugu) confirmed for Pongal

Rajinikanth's 'Peta' has confirmed its release in Telugu. There was talk that the film would be pushed out from Pongal as it would not get sufficient number of theaters in AP and Telangana during the festival period owing competition from other big Telugu movies like 'NTR Biopic, 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama' and 'F2'. But producer Ashok Vallabhaneni who bought the movie's rights for the Telugu version is going ahead with Sankranthi release. He is confident that he would squeeze enough of screens for the Superstar's movie.

"Peta' that features Rajinikanth, Trisha and Simran in the lead roles is directed by Karthik Subbaraju. It has music by Anirudh. The movie is slated for Jan 10 release.

Producer says this is the first time after ' Baasha' that Rajinikanth is releasing his movie for Sankranthi season.
