Samantha wraps up the shoot of 96 remake

Samantha has completed her portion of the shoot for the Telugu remake of ‘96’. The movie stars Sharwanand and Samantha as lovers. A remake of a Tamil blockbuster ‘96’, the movie is being remade by producer Dil Raju. Prem Kumar who also directed the original Tamil movie is directing this.

This is the first time that Samantha has paired up with Sharwanand. The film’s release date is yet to be fixed.

The original Tamil film featured Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in the lead roles. Sharwanand and Samantha are reprising these characters. Govind Vasantha has given soulful music to the Tamil original. A nostalgic romantic drama, it has an author-backed role for Samantha.
