US: CCC performs better than Devadas

Mani Ratnam’s ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ aka ‘Nawab’ has performed in strong way in USA despite competition from Nani and Nagarjuna starrer ‘Devadas’.  Although the film’s Telugu version, ‘Nawab’, had not many takers but the Tamil version did perform strongly. The film grossed whopping $724,933 in its first weekend.
 
Generally, Telugu films score higher amount than the Tamil movies. Nani and Nagarjuna combination should have collected huge amount but this time Mani Ratnam’s movie scored high.
 
In its four-day weekend, ‘Devadas’ collected $645k. The film has chances of grossing one million dollar.
