Vidya Balan: Loved playing Basavatarakam

Vidya Balan, who had essayed the role of Basavatarakam, late NT Rama Rao’s wife in Krish directed ‘NTR Kathanayakudu’, has been promoting the movie extensively. She also toured all places like Nimmakuru, Tirupathi and Bangalore along with Balakrishna to promote the film.

She said that she loved playing Basavatarkam’s role. “Not much is known about her to the general public though she played a key role in NT Rama Rao garu’s life as his devoted wife. Everyone would be stunned how compassionate person she was after watching this movie. The story of NTR and Tarakam is the soul of this movie,” she said.

“This is a special film,” Vidya Balan continued sharing her experience of acting in a Telugu film for the first time. “There couldn’t have been better start than this movie in Telugu. I feel blessed.”

She has also reserved high praise for Nandamuri Balakrishna. “Balakrishna has completely transformed to play his father’s role. He is highly dedicated. I was inspired by his passion and energy,” Vidya Balan said.
