Weekend Box-office: Oh Baby and NVNN perform well

Monday, July 15, 2019 - 11:15

Last weekend, Telugu box-office witnessed the releases of four movies – Sundeep Kishan starrer ‘Ninu Veedani Needani Nene’ (NVNN), Anand Deverakonda and Shivathmika’s debut ‘Dorasaani’, R Narayana Murthy’s ‘Market Lo Prajaswamyam’ and Late Srihari’s son Megansh’s debut movie ‘Rajdoot’.

Among the new releases, Sundeep Kishan’s movie led the front. ‘NVNN’ has got mixed reviews but it did perform well at the ticket window in AP and Telangana. It is likely to touch break-even stage by end of the first week itself given its low-budget. It has come as a breather for Sundeep Kishan. However, ‘Ninu Veedani Needani Nene’ is a flop in the USA with its total weekend gross is a mere $17k.

The much-hyped ‘Dorasaani’ has failed to attract the audiences. While the team is promoting it aggressively, ‘Dorasaani’ is yet to pick up the momentum. At overseas, it has collected $11 in its first weekend.

Both ‘Rajdoot’ and ‘Market Lo Prajaswamyam’ had no takers. Total flops.

Surprisingly, it is Samantha’s ‘Oh Baby’, which has been holding well since July 5, has outperformed all these new releases. ‘Oh Baby’ has witnessed a great jump in collections last weekend both in the domestic market and in the overseas market. The film is now likely to touch Rs 15 Cr WW share. In the USA, it has grossed about $875k by the end of its second-week run.
