Will Baahubali 2 get smooth release in China?

Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' is creating new records at Chinese box-office. The film has already collected 112 million dollars (Rs 726 Cr). It is likely to gross Rs 1000 Cr from China alone.

Now, the makers of 'Baahubali 2' are eyeing the huge China market. As of today, Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2' stands as India's highest grossing movie ever with Rs 1500+ cr gross worldwide. If it also clicks in China like 'Dangal' did, 'Baahubali 2' may even touch Rs 2000 Cr mark. So, Arka Media is using all kind of tricks to release it in China in big way but they have already hit a stumbling block.

China restricts foreign movies to have screening in their country. Foreign movies need to seek permission from the Chinese government and only a limited number of movies get permission each year. Arka Media tied up with a big Chinese Distributor E-star for 'Baahubali The Beginning' and released the movie in Mainland china in nearly 4000 screens but it bombed like anything. The distribution house lost all its investment on 'Baahubali' Part 1. So, the producers are trying hard to convince the Chinese distributors about 'Baahubali 2'.

Though 'Baahubali 2' smashed all records in India, the Chinese distributors are skeptical of its run in their market given the pathetic result of the first part.

Shobu Yarlagadda, one of the producers of this mammoth film, is known for marketing tricks. He is confident that 'Baahubali 2' would work with Chinese audiences. Let's see how he convinces the distributors there and releases it in wide way.
