Is Mani Ratnam’s upcoming release ‘Nawab’ inspired by the Tamil classic literature ‘Ponniyan Selvan’? Buzz is that Mani Ratnam has modernized the basic line of ‘Ponniyan Selvan’ and mixed it with the Hollywood classic ‘The Godfather’.
 
The film talks about the in-fight between families when the family patriarch dies. Sons fighting for the legacy and power is the basic thread. ‘Nawab’ has Aravind Swamy, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hyderi, Simbu, and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles.
 
The film is going to be released on September 27.
