Not many were betting big on 'Kanchana 3' when it clashed with 'Jersey' on Friday (April 19). But the brand value and its recall value have been proved to be high. Because of the franchise's popularity, the Raghava Lawrence-starrer has taken terrific openings in the Telugu States.

This is despite the fact that the horror-comedy-action flick has faced intense competition from Nani's 'Jersey'.

Despite the good openings, 'Kanchana-3' failed to generate positive reviews. The critics have panned it.  

Not just critics but sections of audiences too feel that the franchise should be ended. It's becoming monotonous and one more film will definitely backfire if the content is on similar lines and flavour.

Lawrence can't go on abusing the brand name to deliver crass comedy, cheap scenes, atrocious romances, etc.
