Manmadhudu 2 is not a sequel but remake

We have reported earlier that Nagarjuna starrer ‘Manmadhudu 2’ is based on a French movie named ‘I Do’. It has now officially been confirmed. Nagarjuna told reporters that the film’s basic storyline is taken from this French romantic drama. It has been adapted well to suit our milieu and our tastes, he said.
 
Nagarjuna’s team officially bought the remake rights of this French drama. Earlier, Nagarjuna also acted in the official remake of the French movie ‘‘The Intouchables’. This is the second time that he is acting in the Telugu remake of a French drama.
 
The film is directed by Rahul Raveendran. It introduces the concept of ‘rent a wife’. Rakul Preet Singh is essaying this role of rented wife/girlfriend.

'Manmadhudu 2' is set for August 9 release.
