Young gen will connect with Geetha Govindam: Parasuram

Parasuram's latest directorial venture 'Geetha Govindam' starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika is gearing for a grand release. The director speaks about how this film happened…

Why such a long gap after Srimastu Subamastu?

The gap was not intentional. After Srirastu, the subject for Geetha Govindam was ready but the heroine was not decided. This took a long time as we could not find anyone who could carry such a dominating role. Chalo released and we found our Geetha finally and this set the ball rolling for us.

Why did you choose Vijay?

The moment I saw Pelli Choopulu, I found my Govindam. He has his own charm and we needed that for our role. But to our bad luck, things changed as Arjun Reddy released and sent us in a tizzy. We changed few things in the film but there will not many problems with that film's success as Vijay is a lot subdued here.

What's the USP of the film?

The film is made up of small problems as the lead pair have their own ideologies in life. They get stuck in tricky situations and this leads to ego problems and makes things complicated. All of these are showcased with beautiful moments in the whole story of the film which are very entertaining and has many youthful moments.

Is Allu Aravind satisfied with the film?

Not only him, we all are happy with the outcome and are eager to see the reaction of the audience. The younger generation will connect to the roles in a nice way as the film reflects their true characters in some way or the other. We as a team are happy and just waiting for the confirmation from the audience.

What are your future plans?

As a director, I am happy where I stand in life now. I don't have massive goals to work with all the stars and am satisfied with my stories. I have two projects ready with Geetha Arts and Mytri and I myself don't know which project will go on floors first.
