No kiss scenes with Malavika : Naga Shourya

Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 10:45

Naga Shourya is one promising youngster with a good fan base among females.  He had tasted flops recently. Nevertheless, the affable actor is confident of delivering a hit with the Nandini Reddy-directed ‘Kalyana Vaibhogame’ that is releasing on 4th March.

How did this film fall in place?

Nandini Reddy told me this storyline and I liked it instantly. But after that, we were not touch with for about 6-7 months. Again she called me all of a sudden, and told me that Damu garu (Damodar Prasad) will produce the film and asked me if it’s fine with me.  I was like, ‘What more can I ask for?’  I was pretty happy that the producer of Ala Modalaindi was on board!

I was very excited that the Ala Modalaindi combination fell in place, once again.  We were on the floors in the very third meeting.  It’s very rare that people repose faith in you at a time when producers and directors back off after a hero delivers flops.  The producer-director duo kept total faith in the story and didn’t budge despite me having four flops in a row.

Why did you like Damodar Prasad as your producer so much?

He is a very genuine producer.   He is very daring and dashing.  If he trusts you, he will go to any extent to do what he thinks is right.  Despite hurdles, he didn’t budge a bit and completed the film as planned.

Kalyan Koduri has composed the music for your movie after ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’.  How was it working with him?

Yes, he has composed the music for my movie for the second time.  After this, I have another film lined up with him and that is ‘Jo Achyutananda’. He has given an excellent output.  After that melody ‘Em sandeham ledu..’ from  ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’, he has given me three big hits in ‘Kalyana Vaibhogame’.  The numbers ‘Manasantha nuvve..’, the marriage song, and the pub song are on the chartbuster list.

How was it working with Malavika Nair?

I must say that she is like a kid.  She would be very silent on the sets, while I would be making noise.  In the beginning, we thought she was a naughty kid, but far from that, she is a silent and studious person.  She is not attending the promotional events because she is busy writing exams.

What is your character like in the film?

My character is very relatable.  It’s 99.99 % me.  It’s also many youngsters.  Nowadays, a lot of youngsters are wary of getting married and say, ‘Vammo.. ippude vaddule’.  In the film, I play a boy-next-door character, who is  mentally not ready for marriage.

Are there any lip-lock scenes in the movie?

(Laughs).  Lip lock was simply not needed.  It’s not because it’s a family film.  There is no hard and fast rule that family entertainers ought not to have lip locks.  If something is appropriate, the audience will like it.

What are your next movies?

‘Oka Manasu’. The movie  is directed by Rama Raju.  Produced by Madhura Sreedhar garu, I am happy that Niharika garu is on board, too.   It’s almost done, barring one or two days' shoot.  In another week’s time, “Jo Achyutananda’, directed by Srinivas Avasarala and produced by Sai Korrapati, will go on the floors.  There is another movie in the pipeline.  It’s too early to talk about it.
