Box-Office: C/o Kancharapalem posts decent numbers

The one film that won unanimous positive response in the recent times from the general audiences, critics and celebrities alike is ‘C/o Kancharapalem’. Most critics praised it as a good film with heart-touching moments. Overall, it made lot of buzz during the last weekend.

At box-office, the film saw impressive growth. At domestic box-office, it is working well only in multiplexes in cities like Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada and Kakinada, Tirupathi. In Telugu states, it is on lower side but at USA box-office, the film has grossed nearly $191k in its opening weekend which is an impressive number for a small movie.

Directed by Venkatesh Maha, ‘C/o Kancharapalem’ is a love story with four different stories.

But the films that posted big numbers over the weekend are Sunil and Allari Naresh starrer ‘Silly Fellows’ and ‘Geetha Govindam’. Bhimaneni directed ‘Silly Fellows’ took good openings at domestic box-office in mass centers but bombed at USA box-office. It remains to be seen its overall box-office fate in Telugu states.

On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Geetha Govindam’ is still drawing crowds. It did score well both in Telugu states and USA. ‘Geetha Govindam’ has become first choice for family audiences every weekend. At US box-office, ‘Geetha Govindam’ stands at $2.43 million.

The other release ‘Manu’ has failed to make an impact at ticket window.
