Mosagallaku Mosagadu (1971) starring Superstar Krishna was a yesteryears cowboy movie in Telugu. Here comes another film by the same name that stars Krishna's son-in-law Sudheer Babu as lead actor. Except the title, there is no similarity between them in genre or story. The latest Mosagallaku Mosagadu is a crime caper on the lines of recent hit, Swamy Ra Ra. Like Swamy Ra Ra, this film too has plenty of style, and rich production values but doesn't score on substance.  The movie is directed by debutant Bose Nelluri.

The plot of the movie is wafer thin. We have a hero who is swindler. Krish (Sudheer Babu) the swindler is assigned a task to steal some idols. He tries to con the very guys who entrusted him the job. But trouble comes for him in the form of Rudra (Abhimanyu Singh), a dreaded smuggler. Rest of the movie is how Krish overcomes this and settles down with his lover (Nandini) happily.

Going by this storyline, you can guess how predictable this movie is. Lack of freshness is the major curse for the movie. The new director has tried to con the viewers with stylish presentation (namely first class visuals) but falters with his own sluggish screenplay. There certainly are some positive points like good comedy track between Jaya Prakash Reddy and Duvvasi Mohan. Also Sapthagiri entertains in his inimitable style in some parts. Comedy scenes certainly hold the interest but they are very few.

Sudheer Babu as the lead actor is okay. Nandini Rai has looks but can't be said same about her acting skills. Abhimanyu Singh is first-rate as the villain. The comedians including Fish Venkat and Shankar have done their job well.

Cinematography is major asset to the movie. Music by Manikanth Kadri is not up to the mark. The movie has not much runtime but as there is no story, the film just drags. Many romantic sequences can be edited. New director has grip over technical aspects but he should have focused more on writing.
