What's it about

Hari (Ram) is a DJ. Since he has never got yes for proposals from girls from Childhood, he refrains from proposing to Sailaja (Keerthi) who is apparently impressed by his attitude and other things. She is working as advertising professional in Vizag and has problems with her father (Sathyaraj) who is always busy with his life. One day Hari decides to confess his love to her. She says she loves him but she's not in love with him. Confused by her statement, he follows her to her home in Araku. The real drama happens there.

Analysis

Director Kishore Tirumala who debuted in Second Hand (2013) has proved that he is good writer and is a man with new ideas. Since the movie had inherent flaws in the script, he couldn't get success with that though he won praise from critics. In Nenu Sailaja, the writer-director has selected a simple story and told it in an interesting manner till the end.

We see regular scenes coming out, yet they are presented in a beautiful way that is very enjoyable.

Like most of the romantic dramas, the tale begins with the protagonist's childhood episode in Araku - the seed for ishtam to each other is planted there. This we have seen in many movies including Manasantha Nuvve but the director narrates it with some fresh scenes, some touching moments, and with clever writing (dialogue).

The first half is told in lighter way focusing on how hero falls in love with the heroine, their romance and the necessary conflict before the interval. Post first half, the gear shifts to family theme. Although there is sentiment drama happening, the director never leaves the romantic thread and keeps the proceedings in fun way.

Conversations between the actors are so endearing. The beauty in the movie lies in Kishore's dialogues and creating scenes that are simple, yet beautiful.

Not that the movie doesn't have flaws, it does have many but despite that it floats and gives us a good feeling in the end. The director is also aided by soothing music by Devi Sri Prasad, cool visuals, and competent performances.

Drawbacks are some unnecessary scenes after the interval especially the scenes between Prince and Ram. The character of Pradeep Rawat is unconvincing. Despite being a DJ, hero acting as if he doesn't know the meaning of 'One-night stand' is outright silly.

Ram who generally goes overboard has done what is required for the role which has made a lot of difference. He is very convincing in the role. Newcomer Keerthi Suresh is beautiful and also comes up with competent performance. Among other characters, Sathyaraj's role is interesting. The senior actor does it with ease. Pradeep Rawat gets to play comedy in this. Naresh, Rohini, Chaitanya Krishna, Prince and Dhanya are okay.

Music is essential to this story and Devi Sri has given good songs. His background score is major asset. Cinematography is decent. So is the editing and artwork. As writer and director Kishore Tirumala has excelled. It is completely his movie as his good writing and presentation has made the difference to this simple tale. He is talent to watch.

Bottom-line: Nenu Sailaja is a simple romantic tale which told in beautiful way with some good writing by the director Kishore. Go watch.
