Analysis

'Kittu Unnadu Jagratha' is second movie from the director Vamsi Krishna of 'Dongata'. In middle of the movie, hero Raj Tarun and his friends are questioned by police officer suspecting they are behind the kidnap heroine Anu Emmanuel. One of his friends Raj Tarun asks, "anna cinemallo choopinchantlu guddalippi kodatara?(do they beat up us removing our pants like the show in movies?)". To which Raj Tarun asks why are you asking this now, he replies, "because I am not wearing underwear".

In another scene, Rechukka played by Prudhvi, a member of loan mafia gang, fires bullets at all sides saying when he enters the scene he doesn't mind who is on whose side, his bullets fire at all. He is just covering up the fact that he has night-blindness. And Rechukka frequently gets call from a lady during the night times to meet for a date, though he tells her to meet only in day time.
On the other hand, Raghu Babu has another hilarious backdrop. He sells movie tickets and leads entire life in theaters. One day, he day dreams on the stairs of temple and shouts "Rosy, Rosy, Ship is sinking." At the same time a businessman who came to the temple gets the call that one of his ship in dockyard is sinking and his wife Rosy is also accompanying him at that time. The businessman thinks that Raghu Babu is one who can see past and future. Thus he turns baba!

Such hilarious moments and scenes are the best part of this movie. The writers and directors have shined in coming up with better comedy scenes, though their writing of story and screenplays is quite routine.

We haven't seen a hero kidnapping dogs before. This movie also touches upon it. But somewhere down the line, their writers have lost the grip on the nitty gritty of the plot and have included unnecessary twists. Their concentration is more on the comedy part. There are no logic to the story either. Despite, shortcomings like logic, regular screenplay in the second half, the movie makes a timepass watch due to its comedy.

Raj Tarun has done good job in his role. Anu Emmanuel has not much role nor does she have many songs. Prudhvi and Raghu Babu steal the show. They have done such roles in the past too but the comic timing has worked out well here. Among other cast, Praveen and Naga Babu gets noticed. Hansa Nandini's item song doesn't make much impact. Arbaaz Khan is okay.

Sai Madhav's dialogues are decent. Cinematography is okay. Editing should have been crispier especially in the second half. Direction and production values are neat. But the director has relied more on mix of all elements than focusing on the main thread.

Bottom-line: 'Kittu Unnadu Jagratha', a story revolving around kidnap of a girl as well as dog, has some entertaining moments. In fact, comedy scores over the basic plot. If you forget about logic and dragging second half, it makes a decent watch.
